Nobody dolls guys, why are you doing a pageant for one?
Because nobody dolls guys. We believe in equal opportunity dolling, and feel
that this could be a challenge to push some people out of their comfort zone.
Not to mention it's fun and guys deserve some love, too. And there are a lot
more really great guy bases available now than there were a couple years ago.
How do I know you're going to keep up? A lot of these contests tend to die.
We know the feeling, believe us. It's the biggest frustration when you enter a contest and suddenly the person running it doesn't have time to update. But have no fear! That will not be a problem here. Marie - the webmistress for this site - has internet access at home and work and is able to update and maintain the site regularly and (hopefully) on schedule.
Does the character have to be mine or can I doll a known person/personality?
The character you doll should be one of your own creation. Try dolling your muse - or if they are a girl, turn them into a guy! Maybe use your Dad, brother, boyfriend, husband, cousin, uncle, friend for inspiration.
Why do you update on Monday?
The judges like days that have an odd number of vowels in them. And because it is Marie's day off and since she maintains the site, Monday really is the easiest day to update.
Will you run this contest again?
If it is a success, yes. We will save it away and run it again at some later point, but we do like to change out our contests from time to time and you will find other interesting challenges here when this one has run it's course.
How do I contact you with questions or concerns?
Email marie@late-nights.net.
What does my audition doll need to consist of?
Your audition entry should consist of two dolls: One is a portrait of the character
you want to doll through out the contest dressed as their mild mannered self,
and the other is a full body doll of them as their superhero alter ego.
This sounds like loads of fun. I might enter if I have time and/or inspiration.
::does weird finger wiggling in front of your eyes:: You will find the time and inspiration... you will enter this contest... you will send Marie all of your money in small, unmarked bills... you will have fun with this contest... you will spread the word and have your friends enter...
How many people will make it through the auditions?
Everyone. This contest is a non-elimination challenge, with awards given each round and with four over-all winners announced at the end of the contest.
How important will personality be?
Very. All of our judges are creative writers who roleplay, write, and act. Therefore they really love to meet knew characters with depth, quirks, history, and... well. Personality!
